Bianca was seen running the streets of Piedmont over and over. We kept thinking “one of these days, she’s going to need us.” She knew it too. She stared as we drove away with the others several   times. You see, she belonged to someone...a neighbor, an irresponsible one. That someone was obviously not the right someone for her because then we found her tied up outside another home of some peeps we were rescuing more unwanted pets from. They wanted to keep her, dang it!!! At the time, we were not sure how they got her but we knew we’d eventually have her too. So we waited a while longer and sure enough, wham!!! Those peeps had let her and 2 other females become pregnant, were overwhelmed (and irresponsible). We finally had the release we wanted and brought her into our rescue. Here she is and boy is she going to be particular. And so are we!!! However, if you are approved to adopt her, it will all be worth the zillion questions you answered to adopt her. She is totally a sweet heart. We have indicated she has special needs. Please read that section. But we think whoever we approve will understand her totally.

DISCLAIMER: The breeds we often post are guessed after a discussion and consensus of several sources that include veterinarians, trainers, research, experience, and, if reliable, previous owners. However, your guess is as good as ours.

Special Needs: Bianca wants to be with her people, sit on a lap, hang around you, and she is very agile and can skim a 4 ft fence to get there if she wants to. Leaving her outside unattended is just not a good idea as she will likely skim a fence to be with you or to go find you. We suspect that is how she ended up with us in the first place. Rural owners tend to not try to contain their pets and if they go missing, they often don't care. Rural pets are not as loved as they should be. So Piedmont Pound Paws saw that she was looking for someone that cared. The ideal for her would likely be to be inside most of the time, with you of course, and leash walked daily since being with her person is the very best. A fence is good to have but probably 5-6 ft or just stay out there with her until she knows a protocol that a scratch on the door would be better than skimming the fence. We are pretty sure that following you around, sitting on your lap or next to you is probably heaven for her. We don't think she will need to climb any fence if she knows she is safe and is your best friend. Best friends hang out together.
