Rescued from the Ellington MO pound, Zeke has turned into one handsome fellow, as well as a very good boy, having recovered very well after being rescued from the pound. He's ready to find his people that he can relax and be the dog he was meant to be.
DISCLAIMER: We try very hard to identify breeds but most our rescues are very mixed. We often will ask our vet, trainers, other rescues who may specialize, or rely on our own previous experiences, but, it's just not possible to be completely accurate. Your guess might be as good as ours. But we do know what we learn from them while in our care. However, again, some pets act totally different in another environment. We see that all the time. So, adopt with an open mind and a willingness to learn from your new pet. They have a lot to teach and a lot of love to give.

Special Needs: Zeke has extreme fearful reactions to men in a mechanic's type uniform. He does not become aggressive but he regresses and it is likely that he is triggered about some abuse in his history from a male who wore a mechanic's type of uniform. It is rather extreme, sad to say. Poor Zeke. But, he has thrived in the foster family's home with several dogs and older children. We don't really know anything about toddlers or cats.
It will be very important that Zeke has exercise, maybe with another playful, non-aggressive dog, an active family, a doggy park, and/or frequent walks. He will want to spend time with his human(s) so he should not be just let out in a rural area to run alone, without supervision. He is a social dog. If the latter is your plan, please don't bother applying to adopt him.
