7/20/2018 Wonka has come such a long way since he was 1st rescued from off the highway, running scared. He is in a foster home, has a kitten friend, is getting another dog friend soon, and has seemed to blossom over night, walking on a leash, sleeping in a crate, lounging around with his foster parents, acting as if he was never feral, other than a few minor quirks he is working out with his foster parents.

History: One of several semi-feral puppies, not having been socialized to trust humans, especially when they were trying to catch them for most of their 4 months alive running along a busy highway. Wonka appeared to be the most scared until he was separated from his siblings and had a chance to come out of his shell.

More about Wonka

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Somewhat vocal, Requires a yard, Leashtrained, Cratetrained, Likes to be in your lap, Playful, Timid, Skittish, Intelligent

Special Needs: Upon intake, he was almost feral-He had been running loose since birth, with his siblings, almost getting hit along a hi-way. Will need some work to socialize with people and then some. Wonka needs a long term foster placement to socialize him and get him ready to be a pet. He will likely need more specialized work by a trainer. Please donate to his cause. We are certain he will be able to trust. Once he has been away from his siblings, he seems to be less afraid to venture out. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
