Our adoptable pets listed, PET LIST, are adopted by submitting the online application first. You will be asked to also submit a video home tour, to replace a home visit, or by some other means, such as using facetime, a video chat, or we are willing to try any type of communication if we can figure it out.

ADOPTION EVENTS , are mainly for meeting the pets we have so we ask that you fill out an adoption application ahead of time so that you don't have to wait to be approved before you take your pet home.

We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and therefore may perform home visits or ask for a video/photo tour of your home, as well as conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Please give your veterinarian a release or permission to cooperate with our request.

We know our process to adopt might be a little long for some. We do understand. You are more than welcome to supmit a pre-approval application before a "Meet-N-Greet" to shorten your wait, however, please understand that we have spent a lot of time to get our pets fully vetted, socialized as much as we can, and definately put our love into caring for them. We just want to match them with the right adopter(s) and not rush as that might not be the best for you or them. Please be patient and we will do the best we can.

You can find the link to our online adoption application at   ADOPTION APPLICATION . After we receive and begin the process, a volunteer will contact you.

We do not adopt on a first-come, first-serve basis. We try very hard to match adopters to the pets according to our observations of the pet’s needs. It is our right to approve or deny any adoption application.

Adopters must be at least 21 years old.

Because we do not euthanize pets that may have special needs or need treatment in order to prepare them for adoption, some fees may be different than others. Our standard adoption fees are $300 for dogs and $140 for cats (additional processing fees may apply), which includes at least $500 worth of services such as the spay/neuter, micro-chipping, de-worming, veterinary health exam, FIV/FeLK (cats) or Heartworm testing (dogs), up-to-date flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and up-to-date/age-appropriate vaccinations.

As a courtesy, we may list pets from the Piedmont, MO city kill pound. Any pets you are interested in, from the pound, Piedmont Pound Paws, Inc. does not handle those adoptions directly but will direct and assist you in any way possible. Although we are named for the pound, we are NOT the pound. We are a completely separate entity all together. We are working on creating name variations to clarify this.

By adopting from us, you are also saving a life.

Thank you for choosing to adopt.
